The last movie I saw was...

On TV: Win A Date With Tad Hamilton On DVD: Birds of Prey (episodes 1-4) In theaters: The House Bunny

Film Review: The House Bunny

Image
I recently saw The House Bunny , which I didn't expect to have seen (as it wasn't on my must-see list of movies). Though I've seen the hilarious previews a lot (on TV and in theaters when I saw The Dark Knight , The X-Files: I Want To Believe , and Mamma Mia movies), a friend of mine saw this first and told me to see it as he told me it was so funny. I was like, ok...I'll go and see it for myself. It if will make me laugh and entertain me at the same time, I guess I'll like and enjoy it. If not, then, it won't. Either way, I was curious to see it. So, I did and my friend sure was right. It was surprisingly very funny, which I didn't expect. Anna Farris sure didn't disappoint as she was so funny in this movie (much more than her Scary Movies , lol).

My favorite Romantic On-Screen pairing

Image
These are 10 of my all-time favorite Romantic On-Screen Couples ( TV & Films ). They all have these things in common that make their timeless romances . Not only that they all have undeniable chemistry, the banter, and flirting that made them fun, lovable, appealing, sizzling, and romantic to watch on-screen, but they also have loved, endured, sacrificed, struggled, loyal and faithful to each other, and have been there for each other through good and bad times...all in the name of love . Not too mention, all the beautiful and picture perfect pairing actors who portrayed their iconic pairing characters made the best and romantic fictional couples to watch on-screen. 1 . Film Review: Mamma Mia!

Image
I just saw the movie, Mamma Mia! with my niece and sister-in-law yesterday. I must say this movie was very good. It had lots of singing-dancing. Not too mention, it was fun, silly, and just had a great casting all-around. I didn't think I'd see this movie as I've never seen the broadway stage play version nor was I into ABBA 's music. Though I'm very familiar with 2 of their popular hit songs such as the film title track, "Mamma Mia!" and "Dancing Queen." Other than those 2 songs I don't know or haven't heard any other ABBA songs, lol. Anyway, I did see it as my 4-year-old niece wanted to see it with me. Who knew a 4-year-old wanted to see an adult musical film? I thought she was only into Hannah Montana , lol. But then, again, she's very mature for such as very young age. She loves listening to Journey songs (and can sing their new songs in order from their new album Revelation , not too mention the old songs such as "F...

The last movie I saw was...

On DVD: Kal Ho Naa Ho , Salaam Namaste , Dil Hai Tumhaara , Veer-Zaara , Dil Chahta Hai (all Preity Zinta Movies as I just did a second PZ Movies marathon recently, lol). In Theaters: Mamma Mia!

Romantic Movies

I love romantic movies (as well as romantic-comedies). Here are some of my many favorite ones ( updated 2/14/13 ): in no particular order. Pride & Prejudice (2005) The Young Victoria North & South (BBC Miniseries 2004) Bride & Prejudice The Notebook A Walk To Remember My Best Friend's Wedding Picture Perfect Pretty Woman While You Were Sleeping Dirty Dancing Ghost Serendipity

Twilight

Image
One of the movies I've been waiting to see this year is the Twilight movie (adapted from the Twilight series books by Stephenie Meyer ) starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson . It's going to be released on November 21st! December 12 (just 4 months away from today!) , and I can't wait to see it already! While Twilight fans like myself wait for this movie to be released, I thought I'd post here all about the Twilight movie stuff (ie. synopsis, trailer, movie stills, promo photoshoots, and behind the scenes photos)...

I love Preity Zinta and her Movies

Image
I'm in a preity good mood today, can you guess why? lol...of course, that's because I just did another Preity Zinta Movie Marathon . Yes, this is the second time (last Month, I had my first PZMM , lol) I watch all 5 of her movies in 5 days...might as well as I own and added them on my dvd collection now. Well, I got bored and...what can I say, I love Preity Zinta and her movies! It seems only Preity's movies got me in the mood to watch them all over again in one week. Though as long as each one of them in length (of time that is...over 2-3 hours each!)...but with PZ's ever so pretty presence , charm , and beautiful smile ...

Film Review: The X-Files - I want To Believe

Image
For 9 seasons , I was an avid watcher of the popular Fox series, The X-Files . This show, for those of you who has never followed or watch it when it was on TV was about two FBI agents , Fox Mulder , the believer and Dana Scully the skeptic investigate the strange and unexplained while hidden forces work to impede their efforts. I must admit, I haven't seen the re-runs of this show since it ended back in 2002 nor did I even see the first The X-Files (The Movie), so I didn't know what to expect when I heard there was another X-F movie. Of course, I was glad and excited to hear that a new X-F2 movie , The X-Files: I Want To Believe was made and that this one actually was a continuation from the tv series' final episode (unlike the first XF movie) and in this one Scully and Mulder are finally seen as a couple. Naturally, I got very excited for this new movie as I was more of a Scully-Mulder shipper than a super fan of TX-F show itself, lol. Like I said, I've seen ...

Film Review: The Dark Knight

Image
In the Dark Knight (sequel to the hit film, 2005's Batman Begins ) , Christian Bale returns as the dark cape crusader Batman and his alter-ego Bruce Wayne with Michael Cain (as Alfred Pennyworth), the late Heath Ledger (as Joker), Maggie Gyllenhaal (as Rachel Dawes replacing Katie Holmes from BB), Gary Oldman (Lt. James Gordon), Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox), and Aaron Eckhart (as Harvey Dent). I saw this movie last month and my review here is a lil' late, I know, but I thought I'd still post it here for you to read. If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend you see this as it was simply brilliant (and perhaps the best film I've seen this year ...thus far) and worth-watching with an incredible ensemble cast and the late Heath Ledger 's best performance here as The Joker . Check out my review and just a lil' warning...it's slightly spoilerish (esp. if you haven't seen this movie yet)...

Period Movies

I love watching Period Movies ...do you? If so, check out the ones I've seen that you may or may not have seen yet... Here are my favorite ones in no particular order: Pride & Prejudice (2005) The Magic of Ordinary Days Mansfield Park Emma The Count of Monte Cristo The Mask of Zorro The Legend of Zorro The First Knight A Knight's Tale The Princess Bride

Favorite Movie Quotes

I have so many favorite quotes from my favorite movies. I thought I'd post them here.  (Updated: September 2, 2013) Here are some of them that I can think of at this time... Pride & Prejudice Mr. Darcy: "You have bewitched me body and soul and I love. I love. I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on." Mr. Darcy: "I love you. Most ardently." Elizabeth Bennet: "I could easily forgive his vanity had he not wounded mine." Elizabeth Bennet: "And those are words of gentleman. From the first moment I met you. Your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others made me realize that you were the last man in the world I could ever prevailed upon to marry."

Movies that made me laugh

I 've seen so many funny/hilarious films, which had me LOL. I thought I'd post here the movies I've seen and made me laughed a lot. Here are random ones that came to mind (at the moment)... Ace Ventura Pet Detective Liar, Liar Funny Farm She's The Man Salaam Namaste (Greetings) Bruce Almighty National Lampoon's European Vacation National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Movies that made me cry

You know you love a movie when it's not only very good, but it also made you cry... Here are movies that made me cry: (In no particular order) Beaches Steel Magnolias Eye For An Eye Titanic The Passion Of The Christ The Divine Secrets of Yaya Sisterhood Where The Heart Is Anywhere But Here Fried Green Tomatoes The Notebook Selena

Movies I didn't expect to love

There are movies that you know you love before even watching it or movies you didn't like before and after watching it...but here I am talking about movies you didn't expect to love upon first viewing and you were like, "WOW, this movie was amazing!" or this movie was great! and you had to watch it over (and over) again because either they were addictive or you just love re-watching them over again. Here are movies I didn't expect to love the first time I saw them (but I did that I had to watch them more than once, lol):

Foreign Films

Image
I don't remember how many Foreign Films (excluding Bollywood/Hindi Films, as they have their own genre, lol) I've seen in my lifetime, but I've seen at least some of them (mostly European films with English subtitles) and 5 of them are the ones I can remember the most (including the very recent film, La Misma Luna , which I've just rented a few weeks or so ago). I thought I'd post here these 5 very good Foreign Films I've seen that you may or may not have seen before. Life Is Beautiful ( Vita è bella, La ) starring Roberto Benigni, Nicoletta Braschi Synopsis: A Jewish man has a wonderful romance with the help of his humour, but must use that same quality to protect his son in a Nazi death camp. Country: Italy Language: Italian, German, English My Comments: This Film, was of course, very well known as it won 3 Oscars including for Best Foreign Language Film (and Best Actor in a Leading Role for Roberto Benigni ). I must say, I've seen...

In Comparison: Keira Knightley (Pride & Prejudice) vs. Winona Ryder (Little Women)

Image
Ever thought about Keira Knightle y and Winona Ryder as the same person (that you mistake them in their movies?) or looking eerie similar at least look-wise? I'm sure some of you have seen some of their many pictures on magazines and movies that you can't help but noticed they look so similar (we can even add Natalie Portman here, but these two look far more similar, lol). If so, you'll see or rather noticed a lot of similarities between these two beautiful and talented actresses. Take for instance, Keira as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice and Winona Ryder as Josephine March in Little Women, both period movies and both earned them Oscar Nominations for Best actress (in their early 20s too). Here's a comparison between them, I first posted this a while back at the P&P forum (as I own both movies on DVD), I found some very interesting similarities not only with actresses Keira Knightley and Winona Rider eerie physical resemblance (their poses...

Period Drama Comparison: Pride & Prejudice vs. North & South

Image
For those of you who loved the 2005 Pride & Prejudice film (as much as I did) and is looking for a similar type of movie, I highly recommend you check out BBC 's North & South ( 4-part tv adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell 's novel of the same title). I've seen N&S and I've enjoyed watching it. I own the dvd too (and it's one of my favorite movies to watch after P&P ). I bought my dvd copy several months ago and have seen it more than a few times now. I thought it was so similar to P&P , but yet still very good in its own way. Margaret & John were so much like Elizabeth & Darcy relationship-wise . Not too mention, both men were rejected the first time they proposed, but were accepted on the 2nd proposals . The ending to N&S was beautiful and so romantic too. I loved and enjoyed watching it.

Bollywood Movie Songs

My favorite part of watching Bollywood films are the songs and dance numbers. They are the ones that I loved and enjoyed watching the most. Not too mention, the songs are so catchy and just fun to listen to, even though I don't understand the Hindi lyrics , lol. I just love listening to them. Here are my favorite ones to listen to (and watch the song videos) from the following movies (mostly Preity Zinta 's movies ) such as Salaam Namaste, Kal Ho Naa Ho , Bride & Prejudice, and Dil Hai Tumhaara . Check out the YouTube videos below and enjoy watching and listening to the songs!

Bollywood Films

Image
Ok, I'm not Indian nor do I speak Hindi or any dialect they speak, lol... but I must say, I love their movies. Lately, I found myself watching a lot of Bollywood films. I love how characters sing (though I've recently found out that the actors lip syncs to songs from playback singers) and dance in between scenes of their movies and their beautiful music and colorful costumes. I discovered Bollywood movies after seeing Bride & Prejudice movie (the Bollywood version of P&P) a few years ago and I've just been into it more recently as a co-worker of my Mom would let her borrow Bollywood movies (while he/she borrows my American movies on DVDs, hehe). One of the few things I didn't like about Bollywood movies though is that they don't really kiss nor they do love scenes in most of them (except for a certain few films such as Salaam Namaste . Love this one). Not that I can't watch them without the kissing or love scenes, but sometimes they should be shown for...
