Film Review: Michael Jackson's "This Is It"

I saw this MJ documentary recently and thought it was awesome. Michael Jackson was simply the best. He was definitely the ultimate King of Pop  and musical genius. It's still hard to believe he's gone as he looked quite able and healthy on this amazing documentary showing behind the scenes of his sold out "This Is It" tour shows in London, that unfortunately, didn't and will never happen due to his unexpected and tragic death last late June when he was on his final tour rehearsal. It was such a shocking and sad news to hear and read about his unexpected passing. May he rest in Peace.

Here's my mini review of his documentary made into a movie for his fans to see him perform for the last time even in just his combine rehearsal footages as they are enough to see him for the concert series that we will, unfortunately, never see him perform because he has passed on.

Synopsis:
Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT will offer Jackson fans and music lovers worldwide a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London's O2 Arena. Chronicling the months from April through June, 2009, the film is produced with the full support of the Estate of Michael Jackson and drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show. Audiences will be given a privileged and private look at Jackson up close and personal. In raw and candid detail, Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT captures the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius and great artist at work as he creates and perfects his final show. Kenny Ortega, who was both Michael Jackson's creative partner and the director of the stage show is also directing the film, which is being produced by Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and Paul Gongaware. Executive producers are John Branca and John McClain. The film will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing.

My This Is It Review

I thought This Is It was really good. The rehearsal footages and behind the scenes shown in the documentary/movie were very interesting, insightful, and entertaining to watch. It was like watching Michael Jackson in an actual rehearsal. He was candid, real, perfectionist, and a musical genius. He knows exactly what he wanted for the tour and how he wanted to show his elaborate and artistic performances to his fans. His backup singers, band, dancers, tour crew, tour promoter, producers, and director Kenny Ortega were just in awe of him. They loved, respected, and admired his gifted talents, artistry, and his work ethics. This Is It would've been an amazing tour had he been able to do it (or if he was still alive to do it). It was simply amazing to watch him on behind the scenes and rehearsing for what would've been his final tour. It made me wish I had seen him in one of his in previous
successful tours in past years when he was still touring and on top of his career. Unfortunately, I'm one of those unfortunate people who has never seen him in concerts...so I'm glad Sony Pictures released this for the fans to see as This Is It is the final MJ performances I (and MJ fans) will ever see him on the big screen. At least for those of us who has (and will never) seen him in concert...this will be the closest we could see him perform. This Is It is a MUST SEE! I loved and enjoyed watching it. It was fun and entertaining to have seen it. Michael Jackson was simply The BEST! I highly recommend you see it, if you haven't already done so as it's been extended through this Thanksgiving week (due to its big box office success and audience demands). Go See it!
