Film Review: Bedtime Stories

This was the first movie I saw this New Year. I saw it with my Mom and we thought it was good, but only somewhat funny.

Starring: Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Courtney Cox-Arquette

Here's my Review of Bedtime Stories:

This movie was good, at least it looked pretty good on the trailer and tv commercials, but I must say as with most of Adam Sandler's movies, it's one of Adam's typical romantic-comedy movies. Bedtime Stories had a good premise and all, but it didn't make me laugh a lot as it should have. There were some funny moments and there were some that weren't. I was a lil' disappointed that there weren't a lot of funny scenes, but the ones that were funny...were at least funny. It was nice seeing both Courtney Cox-Arquette and Keri Russell in this film as I liked both actresses (Courtney in Friends and Keri in August Rush and Magic of Ordinary Days). Adam's character had this funny ringtone to his cell phone ("ring..ring...ring..."), lol. The Journey song "Don't Stop Believin'" was playing randomly in this movie too, haha. The two kids who played Courtney Cox's kids and Adam's nephew and neice were pretty good and funny here. As usual, Rob Schneider had a cameo appearance in this movie as he usually does on Adam Sandler movies. He was funny though, as usual.

Overall, this movie was just ok for me. There were funny moments, nice cinematography esp. on the scenes where Adam's character was in fairytale/magic/fantasy scenes, the cast were just right, and the production was nicely done at least. Adam Sandler fans would love this, of course. Unfortunately, this movie wasn't as good as his other films like Mr. Deeds, 50 First Dates, and The Wedding Singer to name a few. It's a family friendly movie though. So, kids can watch this movie with their parents.

My Bedtime Stories Film Rating: ! (6/10; C-)
